About Dr. Yoshinori Fujikawa

Prof. Dr. Yoshinori “Yoshi” Fujikawa joined Hitotsubashi ICS in 2003. Prior to this, he was a Lecturer and Research Assistant at Pennsylvania State University and served as a Research Associate at both the Mind of Market Laboratory and the Division of Research at Harvard Business School.

His industry experience spans marketing research and strategic consulting, including work with Olson Zaltman Associates, the inventors of the patented ZMET (Zaltman Metaphor Elicitation Technique) research method.

At Hitotsubashi ICS, Yoshi served as Faculty Director of the MBA Program for 15 years (2006–2020), leading it to achieve the #1 ranking in Japan in the QS Global MBA Rankings (2019, 2022, 2023). He also held the position of Associate Vice President for International Affairs at Hitotsubashi University from 2018 to 2020.

In addition to his roles at ICS—teaching in the MBA, EMBA, and Executive Education programs—Yoshi has held visiting appointments at prestigious institutions including Yale School of Management, EHL – Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne, Koç University Graduate School of Business, and Seoul National University Business School.

He has designed and led numerous global immersion programs, welcoming students from more than 50 partner institutions around the world.

Yoshi actively contributes to various governmental and professional organizations. His current roles include:

• Committee Member, Japan Service Awards (SPRING)

• Committee Member, Japan–U.S. Educational Commission (Fulbright Japan)

• Committee Member, Hassokai Committee, International House of Japan

• Advisor to Treasure Data, ClipLine, The Delphi Network, and Zero to One

He holds a BA in Economics and an MA in Commerce from Hitotsubashi University (Tokyo, Japan), an MBA from Harvard Business School (Boston, USA), and a PhD in Marketing from Pennsylvania State University (University Park, USA).
